Rebecca Perez works in the Clinical Nutrition department at our Atlanta campus. She is a clinical dietitian, specializing in oncology nutrition, and has worked with us for nearly eight years now.
Rebecca was an accountant for 15 years before she realized she had a desire to work more closely with people and give back to the community; a career in healthcare was the perfect fit. After completing her studies in the dietetics field at Georgia State, Rebecca joined our team as a nutrition support dietitian, and never looked back.
Rebecca helps cancer patients reduce the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatments. She loves the opportunity her job gives her to impact patients’ quality of life, through teaching them about nutrition and healthy eating. Rebecca remembers one instance in particular, where she took information she learned from a GI doctor from the Northside Cancer Institute. She implemented the method in a recommendation for a patient who was getting full and losing weight at an astonishing rate. Upon her recommendation to dose him with pancreatic enzymes, the patient showed immediate improvement. “He has definitely improved his quality of life, as well as mine,” says Rebecca.
