Northside Hospital Named "Most Preferred Hospital" for 10th Consecutive Year
December 2006 - Once again, Northside Hospital-Atlanta has been voted Atlanta’s “Most Preferred Hospital for Overall Healthcare Services” by Metro Atlanta consumers in the National Research Corporation (NRC) 2006/07 Healthcare Market Guide study. Widely known as the nation’s most comprehensive consumer assessment of the health care industry – NRC asked more than 200,000 households nationally (representing 450,000 covered lives) which hospitals have the best overall quality and image.
The NRC is an independent, nationally recognized research firm that seeks to obtain the preferences of healthcare consumers in 200 major markets across the country. This year, more than 3,500 households were surveyed in Atlanta.
“These rankings are testament to the dedication, hard work and compassionate care our employees, physicians and volunteers provide to the community each day,” said Bob Quattrocchi, president and CEO of Northside Hospital.
Atlanta consumers also ranked Northside number one in the entire Metropolitan Atlanta Statistical Area (representing 28 counties and including 43 individual hospitals) in the following categories:

- Best Accommodations/Amenities
- Highest Patient Safety *
- Most Preferred for Overall Health Needs
- Most Preferred Emergency Services

- Most Preferred Imaging Services *
- Most Preferred Maternity/OB Services
- Most Preferred Outpatient Testing/X-ray Services
- Most Preferred Outpatient/Same Day Surgery
- Most Preferred Women’s GYN Services
- Most Preferred Physical Therapy *
- Most Preferred Plastic Surgery *
- Most Preferred Senior Services *

Consumers are playing an increased role in their selection of health care providers and services. Assessing the quality of these services achieves two goals: It assists health care providers in improving performance and it helps consumers make better informed health care decisions.
