Nurse Extern and Nurse Intern Programs

Northside’s Nurse Extern and Nurse Intern Programs are designed to help new graduates transition from students to practicing professionals while earning RN salaries and benefits.

Interns learn the current capabilities of our state-of-the-art equipment and participate in didactic and preceptor clinical activities. Interns must have an RN license before the program start date, and must make a two-year employment commitment following completion of the Internship Program. Typically, interns can choose from the following areas: Mother-Baby, Neonatal ICU, Labor & Delivery, General Medicine, GI Specialty Unit, Neuroscience, Orthopedics, Oncology, Operating Room, PACU and Adult Critical Care.

Our Nurse Extern Program is an employment opportunity for nursing students who have successfully completed their junior year and are entering their senior year in a nursing program. Typically, our students work in Medical, Surgical, Neonatal, Family-Centered Care and Labor and Delivery.
