Northside’s Lactation Program is one of the most comprehensive in the country. Our certified consultants provide advice and assistance to help you and your baby enjoy the rewards of breastfeeding.
Specializing in the diagnosis and management of high-risk pregnancy, Northside's Center for Perinatal Medicine offers nationally recognized expertise and innovation in Maternal Fetal Medicine and Diagnostic Radiology. High-risk mothers-to-be can receive consultation from specialists with advanced training in the management of the most complicated pregnancies.
Northside Hospital-Atlanta offers a 34-bed high-risk perinatal unit where all caregivers specialize in high-risk and multiple pregnancies. High-tech equipment monitors mothers and babies. Special features such as music/relaxation classes, certified pet visitation and boredom busters help to ease bed-rest stays.
The Special Care Nursery at Northside provides acute care to newborns, ranging from those born prematurely to term infants needing out-of-the-ordinary attention. More than 2,000 premature and special-needs babies are cared for annually, which gives staff the experience and insight in understanding both the medical and emotional needs of babies and parents.
A variety of Support Groups also are available to help you make the transition from pregnancy to parenthood.
