Parents Partnered for Preemies

Parents Partnered for Preemies (PPP) provides support to families whose infants are in Northside Hospital's Special Care Nurseries.

Our History

Parents Partnered for Preemies was founded in 2002 and is part of the Northside Hospital-Atlanta Auxiliary. Many PPP members are parents of infants who spent their earliest days in the SCN. PPP provides several opportunities for parents and babies to reconnect with the Northside Hospital SCN staff, as well as meet with other parents and preemies.

Our Programs

  • SCN Family Reunions (formerly known ad Birthday Celebrations) - PPP sponsors yearly Preemie Reunions which gives the SCN doctors, nurses, staff and the alumni families and SCN graduates the opportunity to reconnect in a fun atmosphere. Contact Anne Moroz at for more information.

  • Care Bags - PPP volunteers assemble care bags for families that are experiencing an extended stay in the SCN. These bags help make a difficult time a bit less stressful.

  • Donations - PPP accepts monetary donations as well as donations of clothing and supplies (on a limited basis). Donations are distributed to families as needed and as supplies warrant. Suggested donations include gas cards, books, gently-used preemie clothing and other baby supplies.

  • Staff Snacks - Parents make quarterly visits to the SCN break rooms to deliver goodies, pictures and stories of SCN graduates to the doctors, nurses and staff as a way to say "thank you."

  • Atlanta Auxiliary - PPP volunteers are active members of the Northside Hospital-Atlanta Auxiliary. The axuiliary funds care bags and many other special projects throughout the year.

Support Groups

  • SCN Parents Group - Meets every Thursday night, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. The groups is facilitated by the SCN manager and the Parent Resource Clinician. It provides an opportunity for parents with infants currently in the SCN to meet other families going through similar experiences. Alumni parents are often featured as speakers.

  • Boredom Busters - PPP volunteers visit expectant mothers in the High Risk Perinatal unit and enjoy crafts or hand out reading material.

  • Family Connection Dinners - Catered dinners, held on the first and third Tuesday of each month,
6 - 7:30 p.m. in the SCN lobby (2nd floor of the Atlanta Women's Center). A great way to share your experience and offer hope and support to parents with infants in the SCN.
