BMT Quality

For the sixth consecutive year (2009-14), the BMT Program at Northside Hospital achieved survival outcomes that significantly exceeded the expected range as reported in the 2014 Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research and the National Marrow Donor Program data release. There were 167 adult and pediatric transplant centers included in the analysis.1,2

Northside’s BMT Program was:

  • One out of only 14 adult centers in the country to achieve this statistically significant outcome
  • The only adult program in Georgia to have one year survival outcomes that exceeded expected outcomes
  • One of only two programs in the country to exceed expected outcomes for the last six reporting cycles

We have received many accolades including the national Center of Excellence recognition from the health care insurance industry. We are among the elite preferred Center of Excellence transplant programs in the United States, as designated by most national health care insurance companies, and we serve as a tertiary referral center for patients in Georgia and nationwide.
