Northside Hospital-Atlanta is designated a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology by AAGL and Surgical Review Corporation, recognizing the hospital’s unparalleled commitment and ability to consistently deliver safe, effective, evidence-based care.
The Bariatric Surgery Program at Northside Hospital-Atlanta is accredited by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program as a comprehensive center.
The Northside Hospital Breast Care Program is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (American College of Surgeons), which recognizes centers from around the country that have achieved the highest quality breast care programs.
Northside's Breast Care Centers in Alpharetta, Atlanta and Cumming also are designated as Breast Imaging Centers of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). The Echocardiography Laboratories at Northside Hospital-Atlanta, Northside Hospital-Forsyth and the Northside/Alpharetta Medical Campus have accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) for providing quality patient care. Northside Hospital-Cherokee has received IAC accreditation in Nuclear Cardiology.
In 2015, Forbes named Northside Hospital-Atlanta to its list of America’s Best Employers in a survey that polled U.S. employees across all industries. Northside ranked No.23 in the magazine’s list of 500 employers and is the only Georgia hospital which appeared. Only one hospital in the U.S. ranked higher than Northside.

Northside Hospital-Atlanta was recognized all four consecutive years (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012) of the J.D. Power and Associates' award for providing “An Outstanding Maternity Experience.” Northside is the only hospital in Georgia to have received this award.
Northside Hospital-Atlanta and Northside Hospital-Forsyth were awarded Patient Safety Excellence Awards in 2011 from the HealthGrades organization. Northside Hospital-Atlanta was previously recognized for excellence in Patient Safety (2009). The hospital also received Quality Awards for excellence in Prostatectomy and Spine Surgery in 2012. Northside Hospital-Forsyth received Quality Awards for excellence in Gastrointestinal Care (2011) and Stroke Care (2012).
Since 2007, all three Northside hospitals have scored in top tier of Georgia hospitals on the Georgia Hospital Association’s Partnership for Health and Accountability (PHA) Core Measures Honor Roll.
Northside in Atlanta also received PHA's prestigious Quality and Patient Safety Award in 2015, in the Hospital/Health Systems category.

Each hospital also has achieved the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Mission: Lifeline® Receiving Center Quality Achievement Award, recognizing Northside’s commitment and success in implementing exceptional standards of care for heart attack patients.
In 2012, Northside Hospital-Atlanta and Northside Hospital-Forsyth received the UnitedHealth Premium specialty center designation in recognition of quality care in cardiac services and total joint replacement care. Northside Hospital-Atlanta also received recognition in surgical spine care.
Northside’s Diabetes Education Program has received continued recognition from the American Diabetes Association.
In 2015, the National Marrow Donor Program, the federally funded organization that facilitates most unrelated bone marrow transplants in the United States, released data that indicate Northside Hospital’s BMT Program has among the best survival rates in the country for related and unrelated bone marrow transplants. This is the sixth consecutive year that Northside has come out on top.
The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires submission of data by each hospital in order to receive full payment for patients covered under the Medicare program. In 2009, the three Northside hospitals scored 100% in 14 of the 23 indicators placing the hospitals in the top 10% of hospitals in the nation. In the remaining indicators Northside scored in the high nineties.
HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) is a national, standardized survey of hospital patients about important aspects of their hospital experience. In 2011, each of Northside’s hospitals raised its score on this indicator.
