Wine + Women + Shoes = COUNT ME IN!  Who knew three little words could hold enough power to generate one of the most stylish events in Atlanta?  The 2014 Wine Women & Shoes® (WW&S) Atlanta, benefiting research of gynecologic (GYN) cancers at the Northside Hospital Cancer Institute, will be held Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, 2-5 p.m., at the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta, 3315 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta.  Buy your tickets now at www.winewomenandshoes.com/atlanta.

Approximately 500 wine savvy, shoe-loving women will sip, savor and shop for a cause as they enjoy an afternoon of wine tastings from some of the country’s top winemakers, shop the latest trends in the multi-designer marketplace, bid on fabulous silent and live auction items, and swoon over the charming “Shoe Guys” serving up this season’s must-haves on silver platters.

WW&S Atlanta also will feature a “Best in Shoe” contest.  Judges will roam the marketplace seeking stand-out shoes in several categories including Sexy Stiletto, Wonderful Wedge, Fabulous Flat and Sensational Sandal.  On the catwalk, guests will see the latest trends in fashion, shoes, jewelry and accessories.  Cynthia Good, founder and CEO of Little PINK Book and former anchor at Atlanta’s FOX5, will serve as mistress of ceremonies.

The finale of the fashion show, “Couture for a Cure” is the brainchild of fashion designer Isaac Spry and Catwalk Productions CEO Randi Layne.  They have collaborated to bring together Atlanta couture designers that have a personal connection to cancer prevention.  Designers Isaac Spry, Joseph Plata, David Ojeda, Dona Adrian Gibson, Angela Collins, Shenelle Evans, Therez Fleetwood, TP2, Sonique Stephens, Natt Taylor and Tyrone Collins have generously offered to make special pieces for WWS, showcasing everything from classic to avant-garde styles.  Each piece will be auctioned at the end of the event, proceeds benefiting the Northside Hospital's Cancer Institute.

Additional fashion partners include Tootsie’s, DEKA and Guffey’s menswear.

Dr. Jacob A. Spanier, OB/GYN, is the honorary event chair of this year’s WW&S Atlanta.  Martha Jo Katz, once again, is serving as event chair.

Northside is one of the largest and most respected providers of comprehensive cancer services in the Southeast.  More cases of GYN cancer are diagnosed and treated at Northside than at any other hospital in Georgia.  The hospital leads the way in groundbreaking procedures for better outcomes and less-invasive treatments for GYN cancers and ranks in the top 5 percent of all robotic GYN programs in the U.S.

In 2013, WW&S Atlanta raised more than $30,000 for the Northside Hospital Foundation’s GYN Oncology Research fund, which supports the research of ovarian and other GYN cancers (uterine and cervical) diagnosed and treated at the Northside Hospital Cancer Institute.  The Northside Hospital Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to Northside Hospital and the enrichment of the communities we serve by connecting donors, volunteers, schools and other resources.

Tickets for the 2014 Wine Women & Shoes Atlanta are $125 per person.  VIP tickets are available for $175 and include valet parking, a champagne reception before the event, special advanced access to the marketplace, and VIP seating with “Shoe Guy” service at the fashion show.  Sponsorships also are available.  For more information or to purchase tickets, please call 770-667-4047 or visit www.winewomenandshoes.com/atlanta.
