After undergoing on-site evaluations and demonstrating compliance with nationally developed standards for patient care, Northside Hospital in Atlanta, once again, has been awarded Disease-Specific Certification across multiple specialties. Northside received continued Advanced Certification for Primary Stroke Centers. The hospital also received full two-year certifications for its hip and knee replacement, pneumonia and pre-term labor care services.

An independent, not-for-profit organization, The Joint Commission seeks to continuously improve health care for the public by evaluating health care organizations and inspiring them to excel in providing safe and effective care of the highest quality and value. The organization accredits and certifies more than 20,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States and provides certification of more than 1,700 disease-specific care programs, primary stroke centers, and health care staffing services.
