Atlanta Falcons Head Coach Dan Quinn recently visited Northside Hospital to present the hospital’s Foundation with a $30,000 donation on behalf of the Falcons. The check was presented at a reception, Feb. 27, at Northside Hospital-Forsyth in Cumming.
The money will go to the Northside Hospital Foundation’s Cancer Institute Fund to support cancer patients at Northside and to expand the programs and services available to help them beat their diagnosis.
“Northside Hospital has a strong history of community partnerships; so it’s very fitting that the Atlanta Falcons, who also have a strong history of community, have joined together with us,” said Lee Echols, vice president of marketing and communications at Northside Hospital. “We couldn’t be more pleased with the success of our first year together and we appreciate the Falcons’ commitment to Northside and to our patients.”
Northside Hospital is the preferred healthcare partner of the Atlanta Falcons. During the 2014 season, the Falcons donated funds to the Northside Hospital Foundation for every sack made by the team. Additionally, the Falcons contributed for every reception made during the Oct. 12 Breast Cancer Awareness game at the Georgia Dome, which was presented by Northside.
“I couldn’t be more excited to get joined up with [Northside], and as it goes forward let’s get it even stronger; let’s get that check even bigger,” said Coach Quinn. The Feb. 27 celebration was one of Quinn’s first public appearances since becoming head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. “I can’t wait to get started with [Northside] and be a big part of this community,” he added.
In addition to Coach Quinn, Falcons defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux and center Joe Hawley also were in attendance, as well as representatives from Northside Hospital, local elected officials and business leaders, and a crowd of Northside Hospital-Forsyth patients and employees.
