For the second year in a row, the Atlanta Falcons have presented the Northside Hospital Foundation with a major contribution to support cancer patients. The team presented the foundation a $30,700 check during the Northside Hospital East Cobb Medical Center groundbreaking celebration on February 18.
“The Atlanta Falcons’ community involvement in the Atlanta region is extraordinary,” said Lee Echols, vice president of marketing and communications at Northside Hospital. “This is our second year partnering with the Falcons, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the team’s commitment to Northside and to our patients.”
During the 2015 season, the Atlanta Falcons partnered with Northside Hospital for the Sack Prostate Cancer campaign in September. For each Atlanta Falcons sack, the team donated to the Northside Hospital Foundation. Additionally, the Falcons contributed for every reception made during their Breast Cancer Awareness game in October.
The money will go to the Northside Hospital Foundation’s Cancer Institute Fund to support cancer patients at Northside and to expand the programs and services available to help them beat their diagnosis.
Northside Hospital is the preferred health care partner of the Atlanta Falcons.
“This is a great partnership and we are thankful for the support,” said Freda Hardage, director of the Northside Hospital Foundation. “This money allows us to continue our commitment to increasing access, expanding programs and broadening services to our cancer patients and survivors.”
In addition to former Atlanta Falcons quarterback D.J. Shockley and current Falcons placekicker Matt Bryant, who presented a check to Hardage, several community leaders were present at the groundbreaking event.
