Northside Hospital honors late patient with mural

Nearly 30 friends and family of the late Lynn Teague, a former patient at Northside Hospital in Sandy Springs, celebrated her life through the hospital’s new mural Tuesday.

After battling cancer on four separate occasions between 1985 and 2017, Teague died in January 2017. The reception included remarks by Beverly Sparkmon, her sister; Ryan Coleman, the mural artist; and Steve Aslinger, director of facilities planning and development at Northside.

It was a privilege and an honor to work on a project with so much heart,” Coleman said in a news release. “Knowing the emotion behind the meaning, it was moving to create a piece that captured and conveyed Lynn’s spirit.”

The project was inspired by Teague’s endearing nature, hopeful heart and uplifting attitude. Elements of her favorite activities are interwoven through the design, such as her love of sunflowers.
