Northside Hospital in Atlanta has received two Quality and Patient Safety Awards from the Partnership for Health and Accountability (PHA) for projects that aim to improve patient safety in the hospital.
“Throughout the Northside Hospital system, our physicians and employees are committed to providing safe, high-quality and compassionate care to our patients,” said Janis Dubow, MSN, RN, vice president of patient care and chief nursing officer at Northside Hospital. “I couldn’t be more proud of their hard work and dedication.”
PHA’s annual awards recognize Georgia health care organizations for achievement in reducing the risk of medical errors and improving patient safety and medical outcomes.
Northside’s first winning project, titled, “Redesign of a Fall Prevention Program,” reduced fall rates and won second place in the Hospitals with Greater Than 300 Beds category. The second project, titled, “Radiation Safety,” reviewed imaging best practices and improved patient safety in this area and won third place in the Hospitals/Health Systems category.
“Hospitals are diligently working each day to ensure the safety of their patients,” said Georgia Hospital Association President and CEO Earl Rogers. “We applaud Northside Hospital for its successes and for making critical progress in patient safety while ensuring the best and safest care possible for patients.”
