Northside Hospital Cardiovascular Institute is pleased to welcome Dr. Akshar Y. Patel and Dr. Shengchuan “Rick” Dai to its teams in Canton and Holly Springs.
Dr. Patel is a board-certified physician in Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiovascular Tomography. He specializes in coronary angiography, angioplasty, high-risk percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), coronary atherectomy, treatment and recovery from acute MIs (heart attacks) and critical care cardiology.
Trained on cutting-edge cardiac procedures by experts from across the nation, Dr. Patel views all of his patients as VIPs, making their concerns his top priority and ensuring they receive his undivided attention. He treats his patients like family and emphasizes communication as an integral part of the physician-patient relationship.
Dr. Dai, like his grandfather before him, has pursued a medical career to help patients lead healthier lives. As a cardiologist with 21 years of experience, he is well versed in his profession and takes a patient-centric approach to care. In addition to listening carefully to patient concerns, he treats everyone with the same respect that he would give to friends and family.
Dr. Dai's clinical interests include general and preventive cardiology, echocardiology, nuclear cardiology, coronary artery disease, heart failure and valvular heart disease.
