Registration is now open for the 2023 Northside Hospital Paint Gwinnett Pink 5K Walk/Run for Breast Cancer and Family Fun Event. The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 7 a.m. at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Now in its eighth year, Paint Gwinnett Pink is held during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and supports Northside Hospital Cancer Institute patients in Gwinnett County with improved access to cutting-edge imaging technology for earlier diagnosis of breast cancer and patient assistance.
The 2023 event theme of “Community of Strength” celebrates and highlights the fundraising goal to secure 3D mammography technology at all Northside Gwinnett imaging locations. These advanced digital breast tomosynthesis machines help doctors better detect subtle and early breast cancers.
“We are thrilled to be joining together once again to celebrate survivors and caregivers and recognize Northside facilities that provide cutting-edge equipment that diagnose and treat breast cancer,” said Jennifer Griffin, Paint Gwinnett Pink event director and co-founder.
“This year we are bringing the community together to celebrate “PINK,” said Ann Chandler, Paint Gwinnett Pink 2023 chair and breast cancer survivor. “There will be something for everyone — kids and adults alike. It’s wonderful to see us gather as a community, have some fun, and raise funds for a great cause.”
Registration for the 2023 Paint Gwinnett Pink 5K Walk/Run and Family Fun Event is $35 ($25 for cancer survivors) and includes a long-sleeved T-shirt. A finisher’s medal will be given to all participants who complete the course. In addition, awards will go to the overall female and male finishers, as well as the top three female and male winners in all age groups.
Registration is available until Friday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. There will be no on-site registration.
