Each month, Northside offers screenings, webinars and events to help keep you and your family physically and emotionally healthy. Please scroll below to find some of our upcoming healthy happenings. 

Feb. 1 & 15: Prostate cancer screenings in Midtown Atlanta and Cumming 

Northside is offering two community prostate cancer screenings, at no cost, to measure men’s risk for developing the disease. The screenings will take place: 

Thursday, Feb. 1, 5:30-8 p.m.

Thursday, Feb. 15, 5:30-8 p.m. 
Northside Hospital Cancer Institute Radiation Oncology - Forsyth

Cumming, GA 30041 

Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood tests will be available to men between 45 and 75, who have never had prostate cancer or a PSA blood test in the last 12 months. Interpreters will be available free of charge. COVID-19 safety measures will be practiced according to CDC guidelines. Pre-registration is required. Feb. 7: Cancer Transitions support group (virtual) 

Cancer Support Community Atlanta, affiliated with Northside Hospital Cancer Institute, will host this four-week program to help cancer survivors make the transition from active treatment to post-treatment care. Sessions will be held virtually each Wednesday in February, 6-7:30 p.m. 

Feb. 7 - Get Back to Wellness: Take Control of Your Survivorship 
Feb. 14 - Emotional Health 
Feb. 21 - Eating Well and Staying Active 
Feb. 28 - Medical Management Beyond Cancer: What You Need to Know

Feb. 9 & 24: Cardiovascular screenings in Lawrenceville and Cumming

Northside Hospital Heart Institute will host two free screenings to determine risk for heart and blood vessel (cardiovascular) disease.

Feb. 17: Walk with a Doc in Dacula 

The Family Medicine Residency program at Northside Hospital Gwinnett hosts “Walk with a Doc” on the third Saturday of every month.

The next walk will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17. Enjoy nature and chat with a physician at Little Mulberry Park – Hog Mountain Entrance, 3800 Hog Mountain Road, Dacula, GA 30019.

Feb. 22: Screening mammograms in Conyers 

Northside Hospital Cancer Institute will offer screening mammograms by appointment only on the hospital’s ScreenAtlanta mobile mammography van. The van will be available on Thursday, Feb. 22 at Northside Hospital Cancer Institute Atlanta Cancer Care, 1498 Klondike Road SW, Conyers, GA 30094. 

Appointments are required. Financial assistance is available for qualified applications.

Ongoing: Wellness Wednesdays (virtual) 

Join Northside Hospital experts for a weekly "virtual" presentation of timely health information. Presentations take place over Zoom. There is no cost to participate. All presentations begin at noon and last approximately one hour.
