March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.
According to the Colon Cancer Alliance, more than 151,000 people will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2022, making it the third most commonly diagnosed cancer in men and women combined in the U.S.
In this video, gastroenterologist Dr. Marc Sonenshine discusses the new recommendations for colorectal cancer screening issued by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force in 2021, which state that people at average risk should start screening at age 45.
