Billing FAQs

1. I have questions about my bill. Who can I call?

If you have questions about your bill, please call the Customer Service Department at (404) 851-6500 Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. EST. 


2. Can I pay my bill online?

Yes. Go to the online bill payment page.


3. Is it safe to pay my bill online?

At Northside, your privacy and the protection of your personal information are extremely important to us. For your protection, all information submitted online is encrypted while in transit.


4. What if I cannot pay my bill?

You will need to meet with a billing representative to make arrangements to pay your bill.


5. I received several other bills related to a recent procedure at Northside Hospital. What are they and am I responsible for them?

Services provided by other professionals not employed by Northside Hospital-including, but not limited to, radiology, anesthesia, pathology, emergency medicine, perinatal medicine or neonatology - may be billed separately. These providers may or may not be participants in your insurance plan. Please contact your member service representative with your insurance carrier for coverage determination. 

When you register for your procedure, you will be provided an estimate of financial liability. This will include any copay, coinsurance, deductible, or out-of-pocket amount. Payment toward your estimated financial liability is due prior to service. Methods of payment accepted include cash, check, Visa, MasterCard and American Express.


6. How do I know if my insurance will cover the cost of my procedure?

Northside Hospital billing representatives will verify your insurance coverage when you pre-register for your procedure and they will inform you if there are any problems with your coverage. To pre-register, please call (404) 459-1280 or fill out our pre-registration form.


7. How will I know if my insurance company has paid my bill?

Your insurance company is required to send you correspondence regarding the status of your bill and payment.


8. I was treated at Gwinnett Medical Center (GMC) before the merger was finalized. Will my bill come from Gwinnett Medical Center or Northside Hospital? Your bill will come from GMC and will be payable to “Gwinnett Medical Center,” as all of your prior bills from GMC.

Any bills for care you receive on or after August 28, 2019 will come from Northside Hospital.
