Graduate Medical Education in Gwinnett

Welcome to Northside Hospital Gwinnett’s Graduate Medical Education Program

We are happy that you are considering our hospital as a potential site to continue your medical training. Currently we offer the following ACGME approved postgraduate programs: Internal Medicine - Preliminary Year, Categorical Positions Family Medicine - Categorical Positions, Transitional Year Program as well as a Sports Medicine Fellowship. We currently have 70 residents and 2 fellow positions. Internal Medicine and Family Medicine Programs also have Osteopathic Recognition which allow trainees to potentially be board certified in both allopathic and osteopathic medicine. We have a large group of core faculty consisting of Doctors of Osteopathic and Allopathic Medicine dedicated to ensure our residents and fellows have the highest quality clinical experience and medical training during their time in our programs. GME offers many Academic Half Days, Journal clubs, CME opportunities and furthering education programs. We have the highest level of virtual and in person learning experiences.

Northside Hospital is committed to the health and wellness of our community. As such we dedicate ourselves to being a center of excellence in providing high quality health care. Northside is now a five hospital tertiary level health care complex with over 250 outpatient locations, with 1,705 beds and growing. Our goal in GME is to recruit, train and place primary care providers in suburban and rural Georgia. We believe that our programs have greatly benefited our region and improved the health of our communities as many of our graduates have stayed in the state.
