Dr. Hayes, a native of Marietta, GA, graduated from Emory University with a B.S. in Biology before heading to the Midwest to pursue medical school. Upon earning his medical degree from Saint Louis University in 2016, he returned to Georgia and entered residency training in internal medicine at Northside Hospital Gwinnett.
During residency, he was the recipient of the Peer Teacher Award in 2018 and served as a chief resident during his PGY-3 year. In 2020, he was recognized as an ACP 2020 Herbert S. Waxman Chief Resident Teaching Scholar. His medical interests including innovative teaching methods in primary care, evidence-based medicine (EBM) and perioperative medicine.
When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family and remains involved with his church community.
