Dr. Kaplan is from Houston, Texas and attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas (UT Southwestern). He completed an internship at University of California, San Diego, in internal medicine and a residency at University of Texas Southwestern at Parkland Memorial Hospital and Dallas VA Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in infectious diseases at UT Southwestern.
He is board-certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases. When he was a hospitalist at Baylor University Medical Center, he worked with the Internal Medicine Program.
After serving as a hospitalist in the Gwinnett Health System since 2006, he joined our program first as faculty, and then as an associate program director in 2019. His main interests are in hospital medicine and infection prevention.
