Dr. Vonda Wright is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with subspecialty certification in sports medicine and serves as Chief of Northside Hospital Sports Medicine. Dr. Wright offers care for patients of all ages and skill levels, and is an internationally-recognized authority on active aging and mobility. She has expertise in the diagnosis and treatment for injuries of the hip, shoulder and knee, and uses the latest in injury prevention, conservative care and minimally-invasive surgery to return patients to activity. Prior to joining Northside Hospital, Dr. Wright practiced at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), and served as the inaugural medical director of UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex, where she provided care for the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, Penguins Elite Teams and World Rugby 7’s. In addition to providing patient care, Dr. Wright is an accomplished researcher and author, actively pursues research on hip preservation and musculoskeletal aging and has published numerous articles and abstracts, as well as several mainstream books.
