Brandon McDonald. DO joined the Sports Medicine Fellowship in 2020 after completing his residency in Family Medicine at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina. He graduated medical school in 2017 from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Prior to that, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of South Florida earning a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. During his time in residency he immersed himself in sports medicine training by participating in longitudinal coverage of various Francis Marion University athletics and also spearheading the development and implementation of a standardized pre-participation evaluation learning template for the McLeod Family Medicine residency program which is now widely utilized. Dr. McDonald appreciates sports medicine in its entirety but he has a particular passion for injury prevention, concussion and fracture management, exercise medicine, osteopathic manipulative medicine, as well as teaching. He grew up in Tampa Florida as a multisport athlete and has been a lifelong sports fan. He also enjoys hiking and exploring nature but most of all his favorite activity is spending time with his wife and young daughter any chance he gets.
