7 Tips to help you stay active during the work week

  1. Step away from the table and take a 20-minute walk for 5 days in a row.
  2. Make one change in the way you eat for 5 days. Try no soda, or no high-calorie salad dressing, or no fried foods or only one serving at meals. Just choose one to start with.
  3. Join a group, tell a friend, talk about your walks. Tell your network what you are trying to do! They will cheer you on!
  4. Push back your desk chair and bounce on an exercise ball at your desk for 30 minutes 3 times a day.
  5. Take a 20-minute walk at lunch time or walk the stairs at work.
  6. Stand up while returning calls at work. Your body counts this as mobility.
  7. 7Invest your time in a group class like the UPMC PRIMA Start class which takes you from 0 mobility to a 5k walk/run in 12 weeks!
