The Center for Perinatal Medicine (CPM) is a comprehensive prenatal diagnostic center. Our board-certified maternal-fetal medicine specialists work hand-in-hand with obstetricians, geneticists, neonatologists, and pediatric cardiologists while utilizing our award winning Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Together, with your obstetrician, a comprehensive plan will be developed to protect the life of you and your child.
CPM was the first in Atlanta to pioneer prenatal diagnostic ultrasound and noninvasive cell-free DNA screening. We take pride in our well-rounded practice with physicians credentialed in maternal-fetal medicine, obstetrics, diagnostic radiology, fetal echo and medical genetics. We bring the doctors you need to you and work hard to assist your obstetrician with your care.
Maternal-fetal medicine physicians or perinatologists are leaders in high-risk obstetric care and serve as medical and surgical practitioners and image providers for your obstetrician. To become a maternal-fetal medicine specialist a physician is required to complete their residency in OB/GYN plus an additional three years of training in the subspecialty of high-risk obstetrics.
After meeting with your obstetrician, patients are sent to our Center and benefit from early diagnosis, screening and treatment of obstetrical and gynecological conditions that pertain to you or your baby. You will be greeted by one of our registered diagnostic medical sonographers who will obtain high quality images of your baby. Our maternal-fetal medicine physicians also will view your baby via ultrasound and have a comprehensive discussion with you about your pregnancy. Ultrasound results will be given to you during the time of your appointment. If any additional testing is needed, patients will benefit from our team of registered nurses and onsite genetic counselors.
We use state-of-the art technology to provide you with digital pictures of your baby.
