Northside Hospital has diagnosed and treated more cases of breast cancer than any other hospital in Georgia, with an average of 2.5 new cases each day. Northside offers a high quality, comprehensive breast care program encompassing education and prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, support and rehabilitation. Northside Hospital continually strives to be one of the top community hospital breast care programs in the country.

Education & Prevention Services

  • Breast Health Classes
    Monthly classes teach women the components of good breast health, risk factors and breast self-exam technique.

  • Hadassah/Check It Out
    Northside Hospital partners with the greater Atlanta Hadassah to educate high school juniors and seniors about breast cancer and early
    detection.

  • Lunch ‘n Learns
    Breast health workshops are provided on request to businesses and organizations.

  • Hereditary Cancer Program
    This program helps women assess, understand and reduce their risk of developing genetically influenced breast and/or ovarian cancer.

  • Dedicated Breast Health Coordinator
    A registered nurse offers information and one-on-one emotional support to patients diagnosed with breast cancer.

  • Support Groups
    The Wellness Community-Atlanta offers free psychological and educational support for cancer patients and families.

  • A Woman’s Place
    This specialty boutique, staffed by breast cancer survivors, offers custom-fit breast forms, mastectomy bras, wigs, gloves and a variety of other products.

  • Network of Hope
    Cancer survivors volunteer their time to offer support and guidance to patients recently diagnosed with cancer.

  • Look Good… Feel Better
    A free program from the American Cancer Society to improve cancer patients’ self esteem.
