NORTHSIDE HOSPITAL HOSTS OPEN HOUSE FOR
RENOVATED SLEEP DISORDERS CENTER
Northside Hospital’s Sleep Disorders Center, formerly the Northside Hospital Sleep Medicine Institute, will open its doors Tuesday, Jan. 29 for an open house to celebrate the Center’s newly renovated facility, located on the hospital’s Atlanta campus. The community is invited to join Northside staff and physicians in the celebration, which will take place 3-6 p.m. at the Sleep Disorders Center, 5780 Peachtree-Dunwoody Road, Suite 150, Atlanta. Tours of the Sleep Disorders Center along with a question/answer session with staff will be available.
“We are excited to share our renovations with the public,” said Cynthia Maxwell, director of the Northside Hospital Sleep Disorders Center. “The renovated sleep center will exceed patient's expectations for comfort and continue to help Northside diagnose and treat sleep problems for thousands of Atlantans.”
Northside Hospital has offered sleep disorder services for more than 25 years. The Center features high-tech patient monitoring equipment, six sleep rooms, two patient exam rooms and a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) exam room with personalized instruction and fitting. The sleep rooms have the feeling of an upscale hotel, complete with new furniture, new linens, flat screen televisions, Dish network, sound machines and more. Turn-down service with chocolates on pillows is complimentary with all rooms.
According to the National Sleep Foundation, approximately seven out of 10 Americans are affected by a sleep problem, although most remain undiagnosed and untreated. The Northside Hospital Sleep Disorders Center was the first fully accredited sleep center in Georgia. Northside’s highly specialized team of sleep professionals utilizes the latest technology in diagnosing and treating sleep/wake disorders. More than 1,000 patients are treated a month for problems such as sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy and more. Northside also offers sleep disorder services in Cherokee and Forsyth counties.
