There is no doubt that pregnancy and childbirth can be exciting times. But they can also be challenging times. Sharing your stories with others is an excellent way to face the challenges, learn from others’ experiences, and start the healing process. For these reasons, and many more, Northside Hospital offers parents access to a variety of support groups.
BREASTFEEDING
Special groups and classes are available to assist parents with breastfeeding instruction and questions.

SPECIAL CARE NURSERY GROUP
This group is for parents with infants in the Special Care Nurseries. For more information, call (404) 845-5790.
Parents of premature infants who have successfully made the transition from the Northside Hospital Special Care Nurseries to home, partner with other parents whose infants were recently admitted to the SCN. Boredom Busters - The Boredom Busters are a group of women who were put on bed rest during their pregnancies. Now, they volunteer their time to provide activities and conversations to women currently on bed rest.
Our Perinatal Loss team consists of nurses, chaplains, bereaved parent volunteers and other hospital staff specialized in helping parents with their loss. We are available to help guide and support you during your journey towards healing. Grieving has no set time frame and varies from person to person. Take the time that is right for you.
A variety of support groups are available at Northside Hospital-Atlanta. The support group that is right for you will depend on the type of loss you have experienced.
