Parents Partnered for Preemies provides support to families whose babies are in Northside Hospital’s Special Care Nurseries (SCN).
Our History
Parents Partnered for Preemies (PPP) was founded in 2002 and is part of the Northside Hospital Auxiliary. Many PPP members are parents of infants who spent their earliest days in the SCN. PPP provides several opportunites for parents and babies to reconnect with the Northside Hospital SCN staff, as well as meet with other parents of preemies.

Our Programs
- SCN Family Reunions (formerly known as Birthday Celebrations)
PPP sponsors yearly Preemie Reunions which gives the SCN doctors, nurses, staff and the alumni families and SCN graduates the opportunity to reunite and have fun.
- Care Bags
To help make a difficult stay a bit less stressful, PPP volunteers assemble and give care baskets to families that are experiencing an extended stay in the SCN.
- Donations
PPP accepts monetary donations, as well as donations of clothing and supplies (on a limited basis). Donations are distributed to families as needed and as supplies warrant. Suggested donations include gas cards, phone cards, books, gently-used preemie clothing and other baby supplies.
Support Groups
- SCN Parents Group
The SCN Parents Group meets every Thursday night from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and is faciltated by the Manager of the SCN along with the Parent Resource Clinician. It provides an opportunity for parents with babies currently in the SCN to meet other parents going through similar experiences. Alumni parents often are featured as speakers so that parents can learn more about issues facing them.
