The Northside Hospital Cancer Institute offers the best of both worlds: clinical excellence on par with academic-based programs, along with the personalized and attentive care typically associated with a community hospital. Northside, which has been offering cancer care services since 1978, is one of the largest and most respected providers of cancer care services in the Southeast.
In 2010, Northside Hospital Cancer Institute was selected by the National Cancer Institute as one of 30 community hospitals to participate as a National Community Cancer Center (NCCCP) for it's excellence in cancer care and leadership as a community hospital. Over the last two years, Northside has taken great strides to utilize the opportunities that come with being a part of the NCCCP and has expanded its regional position as one of the largest and most respected providers of comprehensive cancer services. In 2012, Northside Hospital Cancer Institute once again met the very high standards required by the National Cancer Institute and was selected as one of 21 community hospitals to serve as a NCCCP site.
This year Northside continues its commitment as a regional and national leader that redefines cancer care forming an affiliation with Georgia Cancer Specialists and Atlanta Cancer Care. This partnership allow us to create an integrated cancer care network and service line offering our patients and community over 60 years collectively of exceptional cancer care and hematology services. With this new affiliation Northside Cancer Institute has expanded its cancer services throughout Georgia with an additional 34 locations and over 500 employees. From prevention and diagnosis to treatment and support, our organizations offer individualized patient-centered, compassionate health care to patients and their families.
The Blood & Marrow Transplant Program at Northside Hospital for the third consecutive year has ranked #1 in the United States for best survival rates for matched related and unrelated donors (MUD) /allogeneic transplants.
More cases of breast cancer and gynecologic (cervical, ovarian and uterine) cancer are diagnosed and treated than at any other hospital in the southeast.
