Northside Hospital has been nationally recognized as a National Pancreas Foundation (NPF) Clinical Center of Excellence for the treatment of pancreatic cancer.
“Achieving this Center of Excellence designation is the result of our team’s extensive work and commitment to providing safe, effective care to patients diagnosed with pancreatic diseases, from screening to early detection to cancer treatment to survivorship,” said Dr. Eddie Abdalla, hepatobiliary surgeon and medical director of Northside Hospital Cancer Institute Liver & Pancreas Program.
“Our patients can be confident they are receiving caring, attentive, world-class multidisciplinary care to help them navigate the best way forward in their cancer journey.”
More new cancer cases are diagnosed and/or treated at Northside Hospital each year than at any other community health system in Georgia. NPF Centers of Excellence are rigorously reviewed premier health care facilities that provide comprehensive multidisciplinary treatment of pancreatic diseases, treating the “whole patient” with a focus on the best possible surgical and medical outcomes and improved quality of life.
“We are thrilled to expand our NPF Centers of Excellence Program to better serve the needs of patients suffering from pancreas disease,” said David Bakelman, CEO of the National Pancreas Foundation. “The NPF Centers of Excellence Program is one of the pillars of NPF, and we are looking forward to working with our current and new Centers.”
