Northside Hospital Orthopedic Institute is raising the standard for outpatient hip and knee replacement with its Total Joint Surgery Centers across the Atlanta area.
In addition to established locations in Atlanta and Cumming, a state-of-the-art surgery center recently opened in Canton and will open in Buford in early 2025.
These centers are designed exclusively for total hip and knee replacement procedures, bringing the latest technology and a patient-first approach to care. Each center is staffed by a team of board-certified orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and physical therapists, ensuring an unparalleled focus on joint replacement surgery.
The facilities feature cutting-edge imaging technology, thoughtfully designed recovery areas to promote safe and rapid mobilization and on-site physical therapy to create a seamless, patient-centered experience from arrival to patient discharge.
The locations include:
- Total Joint Surgery Center – Atlanta, at 1150 Hammond Drive, Suite 600, Sandy Springs
- Total Joint Surgery Center – Cherokee, at 1521 Hickory Flat Highway, Suite 201, Canton
- Total Joint Surgery Center – Cumming, at 2000 Howard Farm Drive, Suite T100, Cumming

“Northside is creating a new standard for outpatient joint care, expanding upon our proven success of the nation’s leading dedicated hip and knee replacement centers,” said Bryan McWhorter, director of Northside Hospital Orthopedic Institute.
“By doing so, Northside is putting patients first — providing highly specialized surgical environments outside of the traditional hospital setting. These centers streamline care, increase efficiency, enhance safety and deliver industry-leading outcomes and patient satisfaction. Simply put, Northside’s new facilities will bring the same innovation, focus and world-class care that has drawn international attention at our existing centers right into the community’s backyard.”
By dedicating themselves entirely to hip and knee replacement, all members of the clinical team become specialists, constantly refining techniques and care pathways to improve results. This has meant some of the lowest infection rates in the industry and superior patient-satisfaction scores.
“Our physicians are frequent podium speakers at international industry meetings, highlighting the success of the portfolio of surgery centers,” McWhorter said. “Our commitment to innovation, teamwork and patient wellbeing is what truly makes these facilities world-class.”
