Northside Hospital Gwinnett has become the first hospital in Georgia and only the second center in the nation to successfully perform procedures using Abbott's new Ultreon™ 3.0 Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) System, further advancing access to innovative cardiovascular care for patients across the region.
On June 2, physicians with the Northside Hospital Heart Institute Structural Heart team successfully completed the first four cases in Georgia using the new technology. Northside gained access through a highly selective, limited-market release, making it one of only two centers nationwide currently using the system.
Abbott's Ultreon™ 3.0 Software combines optical coherence tomography imaging with artificial intelligence-powered insights to provide physicians with high-resolution views inside coronary arteries and help guide treatment during complex percutaneous coronary interventions. The technology is designed to support faster, more precise procedures and optimize stent placement to improve blood flow.
