Northside, LiveSafe Resources partner to support survivors

Northside Hospital partners with LiveSafe Resources to strengthen support for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault across Cobb, Cherokee, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett and Paulding counties.

For more than 100 years, LiveSafe Resources has provided safety and healing with dignity and respect to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, giving them a voice and hope for a better future. In 2025, the organization served 3,789 unique individuals and delivered 38,979 services to clients from 79 Georgia counties and six additional states. All services are provided free of charge.

“Through community partnership and support, LiveSafe Resources is able to provide survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault the safety and healing needed in order to rebuild their lives,” said Lisa Mello, CEO of LiveSafe Resources. “Northside Hospital Cherokee works side by side with our team of skilled nurses and advocates. When we work together, we are providing a lifeline to those who need us most across our Cobb, Paulding and Cherokee communities.”

The partnership connects survivors with medical care, advocacy, counseling, crisis intervention and other essential resources that support safety, recovery and long-term stability.

“At Northside Hospital, we believe caring for our community means caring for the whole person,” said Katie Pearson, COO of Northside Hospital Cherokee. “We're proud to support Cobb County LiveSafe Resources and the meaningful work they do to connect individuals and families with the services they need. Together, we are building a healthier, stronger community by ensuring people have access to both exceptional healthcare and the resources that help them thrive.”

LiveSafe Resources provides emergency shelter, legal advocacy, counseling, transitional housing support and a 24-hour crisis line for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. The organization also serves as the regional sexual assault center for Cobb, Cherokee and Paulding counties.
