Northside Cherokee receives maternal care reverification

Northside Hospital Cherokee Women's Center

Northside Hospital Cherokee has once again earned Level III maternal care reverification through Joint Commission’s Maternal Levels of Care Verification Program, reaffirming its capacity to provide advanced, specialized care for complex pregnancies, obstetric complications and high-risk fetal conditions.

Joint Commission, in collaboration with the Georgia Department of Public Health and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, award the designation.

"Families can feel confident knowing they have access to highly specialized maternal care right here in Cherokee County,” said Marcy Stogner, BSN, RNC-OB, clinical manager of labor and delivery. “This Level III reverification underscores our commitment to delivering safe, evidence-based care for even the most complex pregnancies while supporting the best possible outcomes for mothers and babies."

Northside Cherokee first received Level III maternal care verification in 2023. The hospital also was named to Newsweek’s 2026 list of America’s Best Maternity Hospitals.

Patients benefit from a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach that includes obstetricians, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, neonatologists and specially trained nurses. This integrated model supports both routine and high-risk pregnancies while keeping families close to home throughout their care.

More than 3,200 babies were born at Northside Cherokee in 2025.
