According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, smoking leads to disease and disability and harms nearly every organ of the body. Cigarette smoking remains the leading cause of preventable disease, disability and death in the U.S.

Many adult cigarette smokers want to quit smoking. Here, Kenny Haney, a community health advocate for Northside Hospital Cancer Institute, gives several tips to help smokers quit smoking.
