Laser Hair

Laser hair removal is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the United States. It is performed by beaming highly concentrated light into the follicles to destroy hair. It is most commonly performed on the face, legs, arms, armpits and bikini line. Laser hair removal offers multiple benefits, including:

  • Precision. Lasers can destroy pigment in the hair follicles while leaving surrounding skin undamaged.
  • Speed. Lasers can treat a surface area the size of a quarter each second.
  • Predictability. After three to seven laser sessions, most patients will not experience new hair growth.

Laser hair removal is a medical procedure performed by a trained cosmetic surgeon or dermatologist.

Laser Vein

The visibility of blood vessels though the skin is a common condition affecting an estimated 30 to 60 percent of adults. It is most common in women, especially those with pale skin. Visible blood vessels are often caused by conditions such as:

  • Heredity.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Obesity.
  • Hormones (especially during pregnancy and menopause).
  • Birth control pills.
  • Blood clots.
  • Tumors.

There are two major types of visible blood vessels: varicose veins and spider veins. Varicose veins are large raised blood vessels that develop mostly in the legs. Spider veins are smaller, typically red or blue, and they can appear on both the legs and face.

Simple laser treatment works for veins just under the skin surface. It works by damaging the vein to cause scar tissue to form which closes it off from blood. Simple laser treatment is performed just outside the skin and typically requires sessions every six to 12 weeks.

Endovenous laser treatment treats larger veins and is performed by passing a laser fiber through a catheter directly into the vein. Only local anesthesia is required for this treatment.
