Two physicians recently completed surgical fellowships through the Graduate Medical Education program at Northside Hospital Atlanta.
Michelle Tomasa Roper, M.D., completed a colorectal surgery fellowship.
Dr. Roper is a graduate of the Texas A&M University School of Medicine, and she completed her surgical residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego.
She plans to become a naval surgeon at Navy Medical Readiness and Training Command Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.
Katherine J. Rosen, M.D., also completed a colorectal surgery fellowship.
Dr. Rosen is a graduate of SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York, and she completed her surgical residency at the University of Rochester (New York).
After graduation, she will become a surgeon at Prisma Health in Columbia, South Carolina.
In addition to the GME program in Atlanta, Northside offers internships in family medicine and internal medicine, plus a transitional year program and sports medicine fellowships at Northside Hospital Gwinnett.
Graduation was Wednesday, July 31, at KR SteakBar in the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center.
