Northside hospitals welcome first babies of 2025

All four Northside hospitals that perform deliveries welcomed their first babies of the year on the morning of New Year’s Day. 

The first came soon after midnight. Mara Farias was born at 12:27 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, at Northside Hospital Gwinnett

Mara was born to Trinity Salas and Luis Farias. The newborn weighed in at 9 pounds, 1 ounce. 

Northside Hospital Atlanta saw its first birth of 2025 at 1:04 a.m. Wednesday. Alisha Demosthenes welcomed a baby boy. 

The Sauer family welcomed the first baby at Northside Hospital Cherokee at 4:32 a.m. Certified nurse midwife Anna Womick delivered the baby. 

Baker Moss Anderson was the first baby born at Northside Hospital Forsyth in 2025. Baker was born at 5:39 a.m. to Sarah and Brett Anderson. Baker weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces, and measured 19.5 inches.
