The Northside Hospital Orthopedic Oncology Program offers a personalized, comprehensive, multidisciplinary and sub-specialized clinical approach to the treatment of musculoskeletal tumors.
The Orthopedic Oncology Program stems from a collaboration between our nationally-recognized Northside Hospital Cancer Institute and Northside Hospital Orthopedic Institute. This multidisciplinary approach brings the care team in the room together, to effectively diagnose and treat patients with metastatic disease of the musculoskeletal system, bone and soft tissue sarcomas, and benign bone and soft tissue tumors.
This recognized program leads the way with advanced treatments in complex plastic and reconstructive surgery, deformity correction, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy.
Leading the program are two of the few fellowship-trained orthopedic oncologists in Georgia, Dr. Nickolas Reimer and
Dr. Don Beringer. Both of whom are orthopedic surgeons who specialize in orthopedic oncology.
Dr. Nickolas Reimer is well-known among his peers as a leader in complex orthopedic reconstruction and orthopedic oncology. In addition to treating adults, he also treats children at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Dr. Reimer is also experienced in performing total joint replacements, complex reconstruction, and deformity correction surgery for patients without cancer.
The Northside Hospital Cancer Institute’s Bone & Soft Tissue Tumor Program works in tandem with Dr. Beringer and Dr. Reimer as part of a larger multidisciplinary team.
