Injury Prevention and Community Outreach Programs

Trauma Education and Injury Prevention

Northside Hospital Gwinnett’s Level II Trauma Center offers many injury prevention education programs for our community to reduce and prevent injuries and the need for emergency medical care.

Trauma Outreach Education

As the only trauma center in Gwinnett County, our trauma services team plays a leading role in issues related to trauma. Our trauma outreach education programs include:

  • Trauma educational programs for our community partners like emergency medical service departments and referring hospitals.
  • Educational classes for community groups interested in learning more about the trauma center, how to prevent trauma and how the trauma system works in the state of Georgia.
  • Outreach to government officials to help them develop public policy to improve trauma care systems.

Injury Prevention Programs

Trauma is the number 1 cause of death for ages 1 to 44. Traumatic injuries are preventable through simple risk reduction activities. Trauma education and injury prevention programs provide the education and tools to schools, community groups and other healthcare providers to reduce traumatic injuries in our community.
