Two Northside hospitals receive CMS 5-star rating

CMS 5-star
Northside Hospital Atlanta and Northside Hospital Forsyth are among only six hospitals in Georgia to receive 5-star ratings from the  Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in its annual 2021 hospital rankings.

“In the past year, our employees and physicians have been tested like none of us could have imagined, and they have come through in true Northside fashion – with compassion, skill, and resilience,” said Bob Quattrocchi, president and CEO, Northside Hospital system. “Many things have been different in health care with the pandemic. One thing that hasn’t changed is the passion of frontline workers to care for patients – at Northside and around the world.”

Northside’s efforts to deliver safe, high-quality care has earned many  awards and recognitions for patient safety and performance, bone and marrow transplant survival outcomes, heart failure, and nursing excellence. At its five north Georgia campuses and many outpatient locations, Northside continues to expand services, technology, and bed capacities for the region’s fast-growing, diverse communities.

CMS star ratings can help consumers make informed decisions about where to go for health care. They show how well a hospital performs across dozens of quality measures (the average is about 37 measures), such as treating heart attacks and pneumonia, readmission rates, safety of care, patient experience, and timely and effective care.
